Highest vertical waterfall in Europa (275 m) About one and a half hour by foot from Hjelle in Årdal to the waterfall.
You can reach to the top of the waterfall in one hour from Vetti gard.

Here you can see big salmons swimming in the river and you will learn about the life and behaviour of the salmon.
The center is situated in Lærdal, about one hour drive from Tyinstølen.

The old Vindhellavegen starts from the stavechurch in Borgund and ends at Husum hotel.
This is a part of the old Kingsroad crossing Filefjell and you can observe the way they solvd problems wit building bridges and crossing the wilde nature here. Just a fanstastic tour.
The road was built in 1846. Half hour drive from Tyinstølen.

When you are crossing the mountain between Lærdal and Aurland, you can observe small farms high up in the hillsides.
People are still living on some of the farms.

The church was built i9n about 1180 and is one of the most famous and well preserved stavechurches in Norway.

Øvre Årdal is situated about 30 km from Tyinstølen and almost on sealevel.
This is a good place for shopping, visiting the warmed outdoor swimmingpool or to pay the local mining museum a visit.

Here you will finde about 140 km cross country tracks, well prepared by modern pist machines.
Here you can choose between a skitour in the forest or in the highmountains.
The track is conected to the tracks leading to Tyinstølen.

The skitracks marked by DNT starts just outside the door of Tyinstølen. From here you can go in any direction and stay overnight in DNT self service cabins. Tyinstølen has a DNT self service cabin which you can use in the time Tyinstølen is closed. Tyinstølen is usually open from one week before Easter till one week afterEaster, from june 15 to september 15 or on request.From Tyinstølnosi, half hours walk, you can have a view of many summits higher than 2000m.
There is also an informationboard on the top of Tyinstlnosi where you easily van recognize the sumits and you can read the name and altitude of the summit on the board.
